About me

Hi, I'm Vitlöksbjörn, Swedish for Garlic Bear.
Amongst engineers, I'm the artist. Amongst artists, I'm the engineer. I like writing and tinkering with tech; Gamedev in particular is something I'm passionate about. My background is an unlikely combination of academia, literature, and computer science.
Most of my online work can be found on my Steam curator page; it has some 350 reviews of mostly indie games, out of which roughly one third is negative. In my reviews I try to replicate the feeling of playing a game rather than to talk about technical details. I strive to make my work entertaining to read.
I started this website only recently, and I did it to express opinions, ideas and observations about things that don't fit in game reviews. It's mostly the philosophy of game design, observations on the social fabric of online groups, and the general landscape of the cyberspace as seen from the perspective of an outsider.
I don't identify with any movements or philosophies, but if you had to describe me in these terms, you might use terms like "leftist" or "anti-capitalist", maybe even "feminist" on a good day.
I believe there is something fundamentally wrong with the world, and whatever solutions we came up with to fix this don't seem to work too well. As such, I have an annoying habit of seeking faults in things, particularly when it comes to my allies. I'm trying to work on it... but not too hard.
I currently reside somewhere in Europe. I'm not Swedish.
